Understanding the challenge

Our Approach
1

Phase 1: Understanding the requirements

The project began with an in-depth analysis of NLNG’s existing systems and challenges. FEES Ltd collaborated closely with NLNG’s management and IT teams to gather, analyze, and validate user requirements. This foundational step ensured that the solution would address the specific needs of NLNG and align with their strategic objectives.
2

Phase 2: Data integration and report development

FEES Ltd designed and deployed a financial and operational reporting solution that integrated data from multiple sources, including Shipping, HR, HCA, and EC software. This integration allowed for the consolidation of decentralized data into a unified system, providing NLNG with a single source of truth for their hydrocarbon accounting.

The solution also included the development of a range of user-friendly reports, including Days to Close the Books, Costing Reports, Drilling Reports, and Production Reports. These reports were designed to support trend analysis over various timeframes (year, quarter, month, YTD), with the ability to drill down into underlying data for deeper insights. Additionally, scorecards were created to provide monthly, quarterly, ad hoc, and YTD views, enabling NLNG to monitor performance across different dimensions.

3

Phase 3: Enhancing user experience

To ensure that the reports were both comprehensive and accessible, FEES Ltd focused on creating intuitive user interfaces. These interfaces allowed users to specify sort orders, select metrics from a library, and access detailed reports with ease. The system was designed to eliminate the need for horizontal or vertical scrolling on standard screen resolutions, ensuring a smooth user experience.
4

Phase 4: Training & support

Recognizing the importance of user adoption, FEES Ltd provided extensive training to NLNG’s finance and operations teams. This training ensured that all relevant personnel were equipped to use the new system effectively, maximizing its impact on the organization’s hydrocarbon accounting processes.

Outcomes & benefits

1

Streamlined reporting

The integration of data from multiple sources into a centralized system provided NLNG with a consistent and reliable foundation for hydrocarbon accounting.
2

Enhanced data visibility

Users could now easily access and analyze data through user-friendly interfaces, improving the accuracy and efficiency of financial and operational management.
3

Comprehensive analysis

The ability to perform trend analysis over various timeframes, coupled with drill-down capabilities, allowed NLNG to gain deeper insights into their operations and financial performance.
4

Improved decision-making

The creation of predefined reports and detailed scorecards across all divisions enabled NLNG to manage operations more effectively and make informed decisions.

“Our goal was to develop a reporting system that not only streamlined NLNG’s data integration but also provided comprehensive insights into their hydrocarbon accounting. The result was a significant improvement in data accessibility and a stronger foundation for strategic decision-making.”
