Understanding the challenge

Our Approach
1

Phase 1: Documentation & analysis

The project began with a thorough documentation and analysis of First Bank’s existing workflow, user reporting needs, and data flow from branches, regions, and headquarters functions to the FINCON department. This phase was critical in identifying gaps and inefficiencies in the current processes, allowing FEES Ltd to design a solution tailored to the bank’s operational requirements.
2

Phase 2: Data organization & cleansing

FEES Ltd then focused on organizing the bank’s financial data by subject line and performing a data cleanup to ensure accuracy and reliability. This phase also involved the identification of appropriate extraction methods for transferring operational data into the data repository, ensuring that the data was properly structured and accessible for reporting purposes.
3

Phase 3: Data repository design & implementation

The design and implementation of a standardized data repository environment were key components of the project. FEES Ltd defined and designed data extraction and migration routines, data mart table structures, and the overall data repository architecture. Additionally, the team reviewed and built upon pre-designed data repository elements to create a comprehensive and functional system.
4

Phase 4: Deployment & user acceptance

FEES Ltd developed and deployed prototype user interfaces to ensure that the new system met First Bank’s reporting needs. Following successful data capture, extraction, cleansing, and upload procedures, the system was implemented, and user acceptance testing was conducted to confirm that the solution met the bank’s expectations.

Outcomes & benefits

1

Streamlined data management

The organization and cleanup of financial data by subject line significantly improved data accuracy and accessibility, enhancing the bank’s reporting capabilities.
2

Efficient data flow

The standardized data repository environment facilitated smooth data flow from branches to headquarters, reducing inefficiencies and ensuring consistent reporting across the organization.
3

User-friendly reporting tools:

The deployment of prototype user interfaces allowed for easier access to financial data, enabling users to generate accurate reports with greater efficiency.
4

Improved data quality

The data cleansing and extraction routines ensured that the financial data used in reporting was reliable and free from errors.

“Our goal was to enhance First Bank’s financial reporting processes by developing a robust data repository that ensured data accuracy and accessibility. The result was a significant improvement in the efficiency and reliability of their financial reporting system.”
